To help you estimate the cost of your journey, we are showing you the P&K Fare Guide for taxi operators. These are the prices fixed by P&K Licensing Department and are used by all metered taxis in the area.

Perth & Kinross Taxi Fare Guide

There are 3 “Tariff Rates”. The one you use depends on…

  1. Time of Day (between 06:30 – 23:00 or between 23:00 – 06:30)
  2. Day of Week (Mon – Sat, or Sunday or Public/Bank Holiday)
  3. Christmas and/or New Year (24th, 25th, 26th, 31st December or 1st, 2nd January)

Tariff 1:

This Tariff will be applied for journeys between 06:30 & 23:00 (excluding Sundays and Public/Bank Holidays (see Tariff 2 and Tariff 3)…

If the initial distance does not exceed 880 yards – fare is £3.00

If distance is greater than 880 yards then for first 880 yards (½-mile) – £3.00, plus 10p for every 110 yards thereafter (i.e. £1.60 / mile).

Waiting Time charged at 20p / minute

Tariff 2:

This tariff will be applied for journeys between 23:00 & 06:30, or Sundays, or Public/Bank Holiday (excluding Christmas and New Year (Tariff 3))…

If the initial distance does not exceed 880 yards – fare is £3.80

If distance is greater than 880 yards then, for first 880 yards (½-mile) – £3.80, plus 10p for every 88 yards thereafter (i.e. £2.00 / mile)

Waiting Time charged at 25p / minute

Tariff 3:

This tariff will be applied for journeys occuring during the Christmas and New Year Public Holidays (i.e. 24th, 25th, 26th & 31st December, 1st & 2nd January)…

If the initial distance does not exceed 880 yards – fare is £4.50

If the distance is greater than 880 yards then, for first 880 yards (½-mile) – £4.50, plus 10p for every 74 yards thereafter (i.e. £2.38 / mile)

Waiting Time charged at 30p / minute

Soiling Charge:

A charge of £37.50 for any person soiling the vehicle

Notes:

All prices are inclusive of VAT;

The driver must assist with loading & unloading (without extra charge)

When a taxi is called by not used, a charge shall be allowed as regards distances as if the taxi had been occupiedfrom the time it left the stance

Complaints:

Any complaints should be made at once at a local Police Station. The number of the taxi should always be quoted

Example 1:

Journey of 5 miles…

Tariff 1 = £3.00 + (4.5 miles @ £1.60) = £10.20

Tariff 2 = £3.80 + (4.5 miles @ £2.00) = £12.80

Tariff 3 = £4.50 + (4.5 miles @ £2.38) = £15.20

Example 2:

Journey of 20 miles…

Tariff 1 = £3.00 + (19.5 miles @ £1.60) = £34.20

Tariff 2 = £3.80 + (19.5 miles @ £2.00) = £42.80

Tariff 3 = £4.50 + (19.5 miles @ £2.38) = £50.90

THEREFORE, OUR PRICES WILL ALWAYS BE LESS THAN THOSE SHOWN IN THE EXAMPLES ABOVE
